Great. Simple App.

Very quick, stable and easy to use for cutting large audio files. I do a lot of podcasting and radio and its a very nice solution for a first cut on your large files. Maybe a little expensive. Wav and ogg support would be great.

wonderful

very nice app easy to use

Upp simple et efficace!

Great app

Its a great app, works fine! But its a little expensive, could be more cheaper ...

Does not preserve cue sheet data

If you are looking for a quick solution for splitting mp3s by cue sheet, this is not it, as the data from the cue sheet will not be encoded in the ID3 tags of the output files. This would be an extremely useful program if it could preserve the track name/number/artist data by remembering which cut is associated with which track. For some reason, all files are simply labled track 1 of 1, making it basically useless.

great app

This is a great app for cutting, I like how its very simple n quick. I also like how you can zoom in quite a bit and cut audio from the exact point in the waves that you want, but im not giving it 5 stars because there is no save button on it yet, it simply makes me save automaticly after everything i do which doesnt make sense because it should also have an undo button and the last thing is that i wish it would rememeber the location of the file that i drop the audio from instead of the location of my last save because every time i have to tell it where to save if i want it to replace the original but at the end of the day it definitly does everything that i need it to do n hopefully there is an update that fixes these small issues. ps if its not too much to ask i also wish i could drop songs directly from itunes ;)

Simple, effective

A necessary app for my work flow of editing out portions of mp3 voice recordings. The way it plays and gives a tracking visual is very intuitive. The way it displays the audio form is perfect for my purposes. I wish I could remove more than one segment at a time (such as the option key + mouse select?) but the simplicity, speed and effectiveness is worth it all the same. It takes mp3 directly without the need to import or do a crazy long indexing process. Cheers!

Wow!

I love little gems like these. Specialized programs that can take a time consuming and tedious task and make it simple and fast. It works very well for splitting audiobooks into chapters based on silence intervals. It lets you listen to the splits and remove extraneous ones before performing the final batch which creates individual files based on the splits. Great program and well worth the modest fee!

Good but

Needs keyboard shortcuts, like space to add a cue. Sometimes it freezes and needs to be restarted. Other than that it works quite well.

Works like a charm for splitting the files at silence points!

I’m using it to convert a large reference audio book and it’s working really well. Note that the fade in/out feature didn’t work for me though. Any chance you’ll be letting us work with .wav or .aif files? .. I’d prefer to work in that format while preparing my audio files for ultimate conversion to a .m4b audiobook, plus your splitter works so nice, I’d probably find it useful for other workflows (e.g. app development sound fx processing) if it supported some lossless format.

Could be better!

Good interface, but difficult to manage time periods.

useful

could be easier but useful

Without ID3 Tags from CUE it is USELESS

Even if I split a DJ Set into tracks theres no way I can label them properly without having to spend hours doing that. When import in iTunes, it names all the files the same way, so I cant even guess what order they were. Therefore I cant name them properly. There wasa very good App called CUE splitter that doesnt work under Lion sadly. Thats the way this should be done. Without proper labeling Ive just wasted $9.99

One Problem

Great app BUT, there is an annoying click/chirp at the beginning of split files. This has been noted by other reviewers and the problem hasn’t been updated. Fix this and I will be much happier.

Does just what it says it will do

I mix a lot of mp3s for hypnosis titles and for my own music for sale - it is frustrating to have to re-bounce down when Ive put too much space at the beginning. THis is a very efficient way to edit mp3s without having to recompress. GREAT! Thank you!

Very Easy to use

All I want to do is be able to chop unnecessary nonsense out of good tracks, and this does just that…and very simply. Thank you.

USELESS - Doesnt work after installing OsX Lion

I downloaded Magic Cutter from the App Store a few days prior upgrading the operating system to OSX Lion. Once Lion was installed the program does not work properly - It does not open the mp3 files and it doesnt work - Until the developer upgrades to an OSX Lion version this is absolutely USELESS. Besides that, it is a very simple wave form cutter.

Meh...

So when I get it to work it works, but the programs seems to run the shows and does what it wants to.

Does the trick

Does the trick but there are hardly any key commands - doesnt have a stop/play keyboard button, a few basic KCs would have made it 1000x more efficient.

Super Nice !

I love magic cutter, it makes the best ringtones, its worth every penny.
